Kirk Kennedy is Managing Director and General Counsel of Bankruptcy Trading & Investments LLC.
Prior to forming BTI in 2003, Mr. Kennedy practiced bankruptcy and complex corporate reorganization law including litigation arising in bankruptcy cases and transactions related to bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
Mr. Kennedy received his J.D. in 1995 from the University of Nebraska College of Law where he served as Executive Editor of the Nebraska Law Review and was Order of the Coif and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Houston Law Center. He served as judicial clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and has practiced corporate reorganization and complex bankruptcy law in Dallas, Chicago, and Houston.
Mr. Kennedy is admitted to practice law in Texas and Arizona and admitted in the United States Tax Court and Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy, and is a veteran of the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division (1982-86).
